| 6 minutes | Introduce topic ( this may have been done in the
classroom)
Recap Health and Safety guidelines for IT room. Pupils to 'log on' and find beginning of lesson - http://www.historyonthenet.com/Lessons/Legendofrome/legendofromemain.htm or www.historyonthenet.com click on 'Resources', 'Online Lessons', 'Legend of Rome Lesson'. Remind pupils to read instructions carefully and to ask for help if they do not understand. When ready, click on 'Begin Lesson'.

| 4 minutes | Pupils to read the story of Romulus and
Remus.
This could be done as a class activity with selected readers reading sections |
| 4 minutes | Pupils then take a quiz to check understanding of the story |
| 15 minutes | Pupils produce their own cartoon version of the story. Text can be word-processed into the caption boxes using the template provided. Pictures can be added online or offline or as a homework task. |
| 6 minutes | Pupils complete a wordsearch of the key words associated with the legend of Rome. They are told that their cartoon should include most of the words in the wordsearch and that they should add to the cartoon if they find words they have not used. |
| 20 minutes | This time can be used to add pictures to the cartoon or for further research. |
| 5 minutes | Pupils to log off and leave the room clean and tidy |
