Henry Tingle Wilde was the Chief Officer on board the Titanic. He was 39 years old, a widower with three children. Wilde's whereabouts at the time of the impact are unknown. He was off duty but appeared on the bridge soon afterwards. It is known that Wilde helped to load women and children into lifeboats but details of his actions are scarce. Some sources say that he was the officer who committed suicide while others say it was Murdoch. Wilde did not survive the disaster.
