[verse 1]
Two lovers were strolling one cloudy night,
Seeking the comet with no stars in sight,
Building their castles up in the sky,
Building them of air even as you and I,
She promised to love, honor and obey,
If he would buy her an air-ship,
And take her up to the milky way
Now this is what she'd say:

[chorus]
Oh let's go up in an Aeroplane,
Way up to the stars,
You can flirt with the comet girl
while I make love to Mars.
We will live on the love alone,
Way up in the sky, Oh!
let's go up in an Aeroplane,
just you and I.

[verse 2]
So cupid got busy and they were wed,
Then in an air ship away they sped
Above the clouds in the pale moon light,
Not pausing once in the airy flight,
Still seeking their castle all built of dreams
Which floated up on the sky
And while they looked for their paradise
To him she'd softly sigh:

[repeat chorus]
