[verse 1]
William C. Brown won great renown,
He was a bold aviator;
William left home, and started to roam,
Told his wife, "I'll see you later."
He got home that morn at a quarter of three,
His wife looked him over, and cried;
"Now where have you been till this hour?" said she,
And aeroplane Billy replied.

[chorus 1]
I was aviating around,
I was flying all over town,
I struck a rathskeller*,
and broke my propeller,
My feet wouldn't stay on the ground,
I fell down, down where the wurtzbuger** flows,
And I thought I'd be drowned;
I was saved by a queen, in another machine,
Who was aviating around.

[verse 2]
william C. Brown rounded around,
Till something happened to grieve him;
One morn when he came home after three,
She wasn't there to receive him.
He waited, and waited, and waited some more,
Then finally crept into bed;
His wifey came home at a quarter past four,
And very rathskellerly* said.

[chorus 2]
I was aviating around,
I was flying all over town,
I struck a rathskeller,
and broke my propeller,
My feet wouldn't stay on the ground,
I fell down, down where the wurtzbuger flows,
And I thought I'd be drowned;
I was saved just in time,
by an uncle of mine,
Who was aviating around.
