I Left Her On The Beach At Honolulu

Performed by Walter Van Brunt
Recorded 1916
Lyrics by Gene Buck
Music by Louis A. Hirsch

My heart is yearning,
My thoughts are turning ever,
A maid, I met her,
I can forget her never,
She was a sweet Hawaiian,
A little Hula dancing maiden,
And for her now I'm sighin'
My heart with love is heavy laden

[refrain]
I left her on the beach at Honolulu,
The little girl who did the Hula Hula,
She was a beauty,
She was a cutie,
And "some" entrancer,
Oh! what a dancer,
There wasn't any room for improvement,
She had a meaning in each little movement,
We said "A-lo-ha",
I had to go away.
