For Old Glory

Is it true Fair Columbia's star has set to rise no more?
That no longer she stands for truth and right?
That her sons have forgotten what their fathers taught of yore
and although honor calls them dare not fight?
Are we cowards who can calmly hear our tortured brothers cry,
And refuse to assist them through our fear?
It's a lie!! Call the roll!! And there'll come the quick reply,
Of a hundred thousand patriots answering "Here!"

[chorus]
For they'll know no North nor South,
And we'll know no East nor West,
But they'll all know the one land
Of all lands the best
And the Blue and Gray together
As in Auld Lang Syne,
Will stand shoulder to shoulder for Old Glory

We've no chip on our shoulder and no selfish ends to gain,
No desire to intrude in foreign wars
But we give solemn warning to the world as well as Spain,
It means "fight" to insult the "Stripes and Stars."
It's the flag that flew o'er Washington when liberty was won
'Neath its folds Jackson fought behind his bales;
And it's war, to the knife, With the foreign foe, bar none,
Who the emblem of our land and love assails.

[repeat chorus]
