Give A Bonus To Our Men

[verse 1]
Don't you remember when the papers said
our men must make the world safe for liberty.
Twas a war for might
they fought for the right,
Line up the Yanks,
Man up the tanks
with their faces grim,
Full of pep and vim
they entrained to dare and do
Twas a job you bet
they shall ne'er forget,
and that job was done for you.

[Chorus]
If you only only knew
Just what our soldier boys went through
in the trenches dying
with shrapnel flying
the foe defying they stood by you
tho' our country's safe again
Let us not forget our men
it's true we can't pay in cost
for the lives that were lost,
For Old Glory that's the story
But, Give a Bonus to Our Men

[verse 2]
Yes they went over there
We know they did their share
to make our home worthwhile l'v'ng in
So they fought and bled
yes thousands lie dead,
They won and now,
Help them some how
when the time comes due.
Push that Bonus thru
it's a duty up to you.
come let's show our pride
in the boys who died,
Uncle Sam what will you do.

[Chorus 2]
If you only only knew
Just what our soldier boys went through
in trenches dying they kept on trying
don't be denying our boys their due
tho' our country's safe again
Let us not forget out men
they gave up babies and wives
"Home Sweet Home" and their lives
For Old Glory that's the story
Give a Bonus to our men
