Is Your Trip Necessary?

CONDUCTOR: (announces train schedule)

MAN: Well Mary, I got the last two seats on the 5:45. Now we can visit your brother over the holidays.

SOLDIER: Got a match, mister?

MAN: Sure, soldier. Say, you look blue.

SOLDIER: I am blue. My buddy and I got Christmas furlough. Last chance to get home for a long time and now there's no room on the train.

MAN: Ohh, what train are you going to take?

SOLDIER: 5:45

MAN: Look, come over to the ticket window. I've got two seats on that train and they're yours. I'm not the man who keeps a soldier from getting home this Christmas.

ANNOUNCER: Listen America, trains and busses are swamped with servicemen and supplies. Is your trip necessary? Be an American! Stay home yourself, and help our sailors and soldiers get home for Christmas.
