The other night I had a dream
A funny, scary dream
It was all about the Watergate adventure
The funny part of it was I was the President
The scary part was the investigation
I saw me standing there with reporters everywhere
Senators and Congressmen were asking questions
They said, "now listen Dick,
We think you've pulled a trick
Now tell the truth, you know you're under oath

Did you bug the Watergate?
Dicky boy, Dicky boy?
Did you bug the Watergate, tricky Dicky?
If you are the guilty one
Then you know what must be done
And you'll just have to move and give your house to Spiro*"

Next there came upon the scene
A sight that made me scream
It was Martha, and her tongue was really wagging
She was telling all she knew
And when she finally got through
Everyone was looking straight at me
Then my head began to spin
As everyone began
To look at me like it was I who gave the orders
Then I screamed "I've had enough!"
Then thank goodness I woke up
But their question was still ringing in my ears

Did you bug the Watergate?
Dicky boy, Dicky boy?
Did you bug the Watergate, tricky Dicky?
If you are the guilty one
Then you know what must be done
you'll just have to move and give your house to Spiro*"

*Spiro Agnew, the Vice President
