King Sneferu’s two main accomplishments were showing the Egyptians how to build pyramids and establishing Egypt as a great international power. A deeply loving and compassionate man, Sneferu possessed both genius and incredible determination. These characteristics become evident to the viewer as we trace Sneferu's struggles to build pyramids and the many great accomplishments that resulted when he passed the knowledge of this craft onto his sons – Khufu, was responsible for the Great Pyramid at Giza.
We visit pyramid sites never before filmed and we investigate the burial of Sneferu's wife, Hetepheres, one of the great archaeological mysteries of all time. We'll trace Sneferu's roots and show how his father the pharaoh, Huni, recognized his son's great potential and arranged for his succession to the throne.
