This series provides an insight into the history of the British Isles.
Designed specifically to meet the demands of history at Key Stage 2, each book is illustrated with photographs, maps and diagrams.
Celts
The Romans thought the Celts were an uncivilised people and
called them 'barbarians'. In fact, the Celts were successful farmers, skilled
craftworkers and fierce warriors. However, it was the Romans who eventually
conquered much of Europe and Britain, and many Celts ended up adopting a Roman
way of life. Many others moved to the north or west of Britain where the Romans
had little control. Celtic traditions continued in these areas, and their
influence is still felt today, more than 1000 years later.
