You only need a pair of scissors, a craft knife and a tube of glue to transform this book into a superb model of a Wild West Fort. This model is based on some of the more well-known American forts of the early 1860s. At this time forts were still bases for trapping animals and trading as well as defensive structures garrisoned by soldiers. The details show the bustle of everyday life along the frontier. Wagons arriving with new settlers, sentries guarding the fort and members of a Native North American tribe camped outside the walls.

The completed model is a 46 x 59cm square, and includes cut-out models of characters including garrisoned soldiers, new settlers and Native Americans.
