The word "shark" and all that it stands for is the embodiment of one of our deepest fears, and while for some species this fear may be justified, today it is sharks in general that bare the brunt of our lack of knowledge, our fears and as a result, our persecution.
This is the story of the warm-blooded Mako Shark, one of the closest living relatives of the notorious Great White Shark and believed by some to be highly intelligent, and far from a mindless killer.
Two such people are marine biologist Craig Thorburn and film-maker Mike Bhana. Their quest to uncover the mysteries of this fascinating shark leads them out into the open ocean, away from the shelter of land, away from help and medical services and into the realm of the Mako Shark. Their decision to study and film the Mako proves to be a journey of discovery, of adventure and of danger.
