The Girl on the Automobile

[verse 1]
The maiden of yore would feel rather sore
If she could see the girl of today;
In her tailor-made gown,
When doing the town,
The boys can't help shouting, "Hurrah!"
This sweet little miss, once afraid of a kiss,
In the dark, oh! how nervous she'd feel,
Now has a strong grip, at a rather fast clip
Really runs an automobile.

[chorus]
The girl on the Auto, the Automobile,
Has all of the Johnnies glad
As she passes them by, they'll wink their eye,
And a glance at each one she will steal;
You can bet she ain't timid, why she is the limit,
The girl on the Automobile!

[verse 2]
No more sweet perfume, it has met its doom!
Why it's really a thing of the past;
For, instead of rose-dream,
It's mild gasoline!
Its perfume forever will last.
The maid on the bus, who would make a big fuss
If the horso would run, shy, or would fall,
Runs into a fence, and the scene is immense!
She gets up, and don't mind at all.

[repeat chorus]
