[verse 1]
Farmer Jones has a daughter Jane
who longed to ride up in an aeroplane,
She swore she'd marry a sky chaffeur
For country life she could not endure;
No more of milking the brindled cows
If she captured a sky man for her spouse
Around the farm she'd sing all day
of a honeymoon on the milky way:

[chorus]
I'd like to take a trip with you
up in an air-ship built for two;
Oh mister, mister air-ship man
please take me up as quick as you can
for I want to visit Mars,
I want to sail among the stars,
I want to view the sky so blue
in an air-ship built for two.

[verse 2]
Jane then went to a country fair,
she heard an air-ship would be there;
She found a natty air-ship man
And smiled as only a maiden can;
Whe he saw the eyes of our smiling Jane
He motioned toward his aeroplane
Away they sailed like bird on wing
and down below they could hear them sing:

[repeat chorus]
