The President spoke at 9:30 p.m. to an audience of approximately 4,000 persons assembled in Constitution Hall. The address was carried over the National Broadcasting Company and the Columbia Broadcasting System radio networks. In his opening remarks the President referred to Everett Sanders, chairman of the Republican National Committee. Two excerpts of the speech are included here, the first 6 minutes 23 seconds, and the last two minutes. The first excerpt has a number of skips.
