The American G.I. In Korea
What Am I Doing Here?
"What Am I Doing Here?" (1950): The Cold War and the Truman Doctrine dumbed down to what the American government thought the average enlisted man could understand. Basically, Korea is all about stopping the Russians from getting more food, which would enable them to take over Japan, thereby encircling the U.S. and cutting off raw materials. If that should happen, America will be invaded, you'll lose your job, and your family will live without love.
